A re-run of an election is usually when there is a dispute involved (usual thing in Africa when there are elections!!).

This is the most common term used for a "second round of elections", at least in US English.

: Ricardo used very poor English here as a result of literally translating "segundo turno" from Portuguese. One would simply never see "second turn" used in English in this context.
