Portuguese term

sonhar e fazer sonhar

Portuguese to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
Good morning! I see from Google that this is a fairly common expression, but I don't really understand what it signifies. Why snhar e FAZER sonhar? Can anybody please either give me a colloquial equivalent in English or at least try to explain the meaning behind it.

As to the context, it's a solitary, introductory line at the beginning of a tourism article about a hotel in Angola.

to dream and to inspire /dream, believe, inspire

Hi Lexical, I'm not sure I'm happy that either of these are common or colloquial enough for your needs, but I believe they convey the meaning. As I understand it FAZER SONHAR means to inspire others to dream... hope its helps.

agree Donald Scott Alexander : I think "to dream and inspire" is an accurate translation - and it would seem to fit well here as part of the headline for an article about tourism (short and sweet).

make your dreams come true/make your dreams real/live your dreams

Since it is part of a tourism/marketing drive, I would translate it as 'making your dreams come true' 'or 'make your dreams real' . You could even say 'live your dreams' or 'make your fantasy a reality' if you want to go further.

Make me dream your dreams

I think you would have to use the pronoun after the verb for it to make any sense: by dreaming you make someone share your dreams.
