Portuguese term

Procuração ad judicia

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) storage
According to my small Latin dictionary, "ad judicia" means:

--> Para o foro em geral, para fins judiciais: procuração ad judicia.

Should I:

a) use only "power of attorney" because it's already understood that the document will be used for legal/judicial purposes?

b) keep the Latin expression in italics, using "Ad judicia power of attorney"?

or

c) use "power of attorney with ad judicia clause" as a more thorough explanation?

Thanks!

Rafa Lombardino (asker) Dec 27, 2005:
Ad judicia But as a two-word expression, right? In Portuguese, I've found many examples that use a hyphen and lower cases ("ad-judicia") as an adjective. But in English these Latin words are usually kept as original and in italics ("ad judicia").

disagree DCForTransla (X) : Not all languages adopt the same Latin terms. Latin terms should be treated as loan words, not foreign words. It is useless to maintain a Latin term that is not used in legal contexts in English. 5 min of research revealed the term "in foro" used in Eng.

Yes, sorry. It should be two words but according to her it doesn't need to be in italics. If you put it in italics I'm sure it would be OK.

power of attorney with "an" ad judicia clause

Or you can use "power of attorney with powers to act in the judicial sphere".

It is a power of attorney for court representation, receiving service of process, etc.

Conforme:

Determina o art.
