A sample which is made by combining samples from two or more locations. The sample can be of water, soil or another medium.
A composite (proportional) sample is a collection of individual samples obtained at regular intervals during a 24-hour time span. Each individual sample is combined with the others in proportion to when the sample was collected The resulting mixture (composite sample) forms a representative sample and is analyzed to determine the average conditions during the sampling period. :)
