Spanish term

Valorar para permanecer

Spanish to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
This is one of those mottos that in Mexicans are accustomed to placing above their signatures. It precedes the name of the president of a nonprofit group working to conserve World Heritage cultural sites in one Mexican state.

My attempt: "To cherish is to abide" but I'm not satisfied with "abide" (the idea is that the historic buildings will not be destroyed if we cherish them).

Any ideas? Thanks!!
