Source text - Arabic لا عجب .. هذة عادة عندنا ورأى عام لدى رجالنا أن كل ميدان تقتحمة امرأتان أو ثلاث لابد أن يزدحم فى لمحة من البصر بمجهودهن جميعا دون استثناء.
ولكن هذة نظرية لا صحة لها لأن المرأة لازالت على باب الفجر ولازالت (عندنا على الاقل) بعيدة عن التجارب والشجاعة الأدبية والاجتماعية والثقافية مهما كانت على جانب عظيم من الثقافة والتهذيب الاجتماعى وغير الاجتماعى فلا يمكن ان تقتحمن ميدانا جديدا لا يبيح لهن اقتحامه الا القليلات جدا.
أما الاتى سيشاركن الشبان التعليم الازهرى فسيكن أقلية بسيطة، بل يمكننا ان نقول الاقلية النادرة ولنا نظرية اخرى غير نظرية النائب المحترم. نحن انصار نهضة المراة كاملة وتحررها دون استثناء مستندة إلى حرية كل شخص بالثقافة والتعليم الذى يريده ويميل إليه والاتجاة الذى يبغية دون التحكم فى مصير حياته الروحية والعقلية والفكرية والعلمية سواء أكان رجلا ام امراة.
ثم اذا كانت وظيفة المراة كما يقول المحافظون بتقاليد لا معنى لها فى عصرنا المجاهد نسبة للجهد العنيف للقوت والرزق والذى يقوم به الجميع دون سواء رجالا ونساء مضطرين الى العمل السريع أم معرضين انفسهن للهلاك تحت اقدام الاجيال القادمة المندفعة للنهوض والاكتمال فى جميع الميادين. واما اذا كانت وظيفة الملرأة ليست إلا المنزل فتعود المرأة رغما عن نفسها إلى هذة الوظائف حتى إذا اقتحمت مؤقتا ميدانا آخر.
اتركوا للفتاة الاختيار لتكون اما زوجة وربة أسرة أو لتكون مهندسة أو طكبيبة او محامية ليكن كل انسان حرا طليقا لاختيار حياته وتوجيهها كما يشاء إلى هدفه المنشود منه وحده مادام شريفا. والمرأة ايضا انسان أليس كذلك؟

Translation - English I am not surprised at the honorable member's opinion. In fact, I find his views very much in keeping with our traditional beliefs and the general opinion of men in our society which allege that if two or three women ventured into a new field, they would, without doubt, crowd the site and seize men’s places in the blink of an eye.
However, this theory is not valid because women are still on the threshold and are - at least in our country - far from social and cultural experience and, moral courage. Even if they are highly cultured and refined socially or otherwise, they cannot venture into a new field because only a few of them are permitted to do so.
As for those who will receive the same education at Al-Azhar like the men, they will be a minority, or perhaps we daresay they will be a rare minority. The truth is that our theory is quite different from that of the respectable M.P. Stemming from our belief that everyone, regardless of his/her sex has the freedom to choose the intellectual and educational areas that he/she prefers and the right to take whichever direction he/she desires without being manipulated spiritually or mentally, we totally support women’s progress and emancipation without any constraints.
Contrary to the claims of those conservatives who uphold meaningless traditions, women's employment, like men's, has become a necessity of our times. Everybody, men and women alike, is rushing to work hard to sustain a livelihood and to avoid extinction under the forceful and rapid pace of the upcoming generations that compete for excellence and perfection in all areas. And if a woman's job is restricted to taking care of her domestic duties, well, women do go back to carry out their household chores, whether they like it or not, even if they venture into other fields outside the domestic sphere.
Give women the right of choice. Have them choose either to be mothers and housewives or engineers, physicians and lawyers. Give every human being the freedom to choose his/her life and to achieve his/her goal as long as the goal is noble. After all, women are human beings, aren't they?
