It depends on the client's instructions and the origin of the matches. If the client provides the TM and I am specifically told to ignore all context matches, then I will not charge for them. If the context matches require checking, I will charge a reduced rate. However, if the context matches stem from my own translation memory, I will charge them at full rate.

Does an interpreter who interprets 10 times the same part of a sentence//100% matches gives a discount? I've always been against any form of discount, whether it is for the use of CATs or volume-discounts. In the end, the translator always pulls on the shortest end. It is great to enhance your productivity, but is it great to give discounts for doing so? A lot of questions about CATs lately. Is this in preparation for the release of Studio 2011?

Despite what one might think from frequenting this site, Trados has not yet become as indispensible to a translator--or at least to this translator--as a set of nimble fingers, rudimentary computer skills, and a functioning central nervous system.
