Maybe David deserves the credit for 'acts'. In any case, it seems a more appropriate translation for the -beitrag element here. Contribution to a discussion, contribution to a good cause (both positive ideas), but contribution to an offence?

Very good, Andrew. Why not post that as an answer. I had thought of complicity but had a problem with 1. the plural form that you have now resolved with 'acts of' and 2. the criminal overtones when we don't yet know what guise these Beiträge took, namely witting or unwitting acts, deliberate or scammed monetary contributions.
