See below. Explanation: OEM is used in the Russian text somewhat differently from the original meaning. See the definition of OEM below, which I found in an online glossary of terms: OEM original equipment manufacturer Originally OEM was an adjective used to describe a company that produced hardware to be marketed under another company's brand. Mitsumi, for example, produced CD-ROM drives that dozens of companies would label as their own. It's often now used as a verb, as in this sentence: "This CD-ROM drive is OEM'd by Mitsumi." http://www.cnet.com/Resources/Info/Glossary/Terms/oem.html In your context, software, rather than hardware, is meant to be “OEM’d” (= marketed under another company’s brand). Hope that this helps. Best regards, Artyan Reference: http://www.cnet.com/Resources/Info/Glossary/Terms/oem.html |

OEM direction Explanation: Well, I don't think there's a need to invent terms other than 'direction' (OEM of course goes without saying). For instance, 'The OEM direction is part of an overall move by IBM Technology Group (of which NHD is a part) to become a major supplier to other vendors, such as Dell.' OEM trend Explanation: The OEM trend toward purchasing through CEMs often results in a confusing scenario whereby manufacturers quote both the original OEM and the CEM http://www.ebnonline.com/story/OEG20000915S0013 Reflecting the continued OEM trend toward outsourcing, revenue for the Niwot, Colo., company's contract manufacturing sector rose 131.1%, from $71.4 million to $165 million. http://buyersnews.com/section/012698/business1.html Also OEM direction is possible. Hope it can help you. Best Regards, Serge Serge Roshchin [email protected] |
