Exoneración horaria

Spanish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy ICT coordinator posts
SPAIN. This appears in an article about teachers' reasons for applying for the post as school ICT coordinator. I know what exoneration is and "horaria" refers to the timetable or schedule. However, I can't decide on the best way to word it in a formal context (it's been a long day). All suggestions appreciated.

Yes But it just seems a rather odd way to express it in Spanish. "Flexibilidad horaria" is what I usually see (one of my clients is currently recruiting and this is one of the incentives they offer).

Me pregunto si podría ser como una descarga de horas, parecida al beneficio de *reducir dedicación docente* (que podría ser 'teaching/course load reduction'), pero en este caso de exoneración viene siendo una licencia o un tiempo libre para que uno pueda dedicarse a proyectos fuera del recinto escolar, como un año de sabático, que son comunes, pero ¿por menos tiempo?

Timetable opt-out

The difference with the US example is that it seems to be the parents of school children - rather than the teachers helping themselves to 'spares' - who are opting out of e.g. the curriculum.
