Hello all,
Does anyone know how to add a one-off TU to an existing TM using the TM editor? The manual says it is possible to do this using the editor, but I can't figure out how, and I'd rather not edit the file directly using Notepad or similar.
Using version 5.50y.
Thanks in advance, Elliot

I've done it before using Excel with no problem (right click on TM file, select "open with".)
Alternatively, create a doc with just that TU in it, apply your TM to that doc, translate (using copy/paste from the original/transaltion) and then clean up. Some kind of solution along those lines would probably work.

my way of doing it

...would be to
1. export something using maintainance - just to get the structure of the exported TXT (or TMX) file right 2. edit the exported file so that it contains just your missing TU 3. import the file
of course it can be that 5.5 is missing this functionality ...

Special filter

Hello Elliot,
Use the special filter in the TM editor: Merge the current TM with another TM
Good luck, John

Ok, thanks.

I will try these techniques and see which one is easiest. WF should have this functionality built in to the TM editor (which in my opinion is clunky, to say the least.)
Take care everyone, Elliot
