Bio

In 2005, I got a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English with an emphasis on
translation from UFPE – Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (Federal University
of Pernambuco -
my state, in the Northeast of Brazil), but, as I was already an English
teacher at the time and was also working in the Tourism Industry, I only worked
as a translator when some friend or coworker  referred my work to someone who needed a
translation – which didn't happen very often.

Shortly before the covid-19 pandemic, I went back to studying at UFPE, this
time Psychology, and during the pandemic I lost my job as a language teacher.
Coincidentally, opportunities to work as a translator also arose during the
pandemic: classmates from the psychology course who were going to present
papers at a congress in Argentina sought my services as a translator.

After that experience, I invested in offering my services locally and an
important NGO from Recife, the capital of my state, got in touch. T
he NGO Gajop –
Gabinete de Assessoria Jurídica às Organizações Populares (Office of Legal
Advice for Popular Organizations)
. Thus, since July 2021, I have been translating for GAJOP all the
contacts they have had with foreign organizations that support them -
contracts, emails, rendering of accounts, etc.

I have invested in contacting foreign translation companies, so that I could
get more work and experience.

I am a very responsible and flexible translator and proficient in several CAT
tools.
