English to Hungarian: The eyes (a film about a young Turkish boy)
Source text - English
The imam is invited for prayer to the stage by the music players. As soon as the Imam stands up, everything becomes a perfect standstill. In the silence, the Imam walks to the middle of the stage and open both his hands and starts praying silently. Everybody takes the prayer position as the Imam does all this while the childer are watching them in bewilderment. Some kids are walking arounf this people who are playing (kneeling and standing up somehoe regulary).

At the end of the prayer, the Imam take a special red ribbon .with "Massalah" (God bless) embroidered on it and walks toward Umut's bed. Him and the Kirve are making Umut stand up on the bed (he's naked again) and the Imam is the ribbon aroung Umtu's neck. As the Imam does this, everybody in tha salon starts applauding. The music starts again...

Bio
Working as a doctorate student at a university, I teach agricultural economics and horticultural management. The main objective of my doctoral dissertation is to evaluate the newest agro-innovations such as biotechnology, energy business for farmers and micro-financing. My publication list includes several conference papers and articles but also two books (Rural development and Agro-marketing strategies).

As a translator, I usually have to deal with business documents and conference papers. I like to translate film's scripts, subtitles and books in which I have a lot of experience. Translating films' script is a special job because of the usually not-native English author. My last job was a film of a Turkish author (Nihat Seven) about a Turkish boy who has become homosexual thus outsider in the religious, military-based country. As you can see in my portfolio as well, the source was not perfect in terms of English grammar, plus it had special islamic terms that needed special attention.
