Law/Patents - Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright
French term or phrase: par modification
"au titre du droit d’adaptation, Y pourra reproduire ou représenter les Oeuvres par modification ou adaptation, par adjonction ou suppression ou changement d’un élément quelconque des Oeuvres". In a copyright transfer agreement for artistic works, the rights to reproduce and perform/show the works are transferred as is the right to adapt, but I am having trouble at coming up with a good English translation of this phrase. "by modifying" does not seem right.....any ideas welcomed.

Explanation:
Hello,

Yeah, it means "by modifying them", but couldn't you just say "if modified, adapted..." Isn't that really saying that these works can be reproduced or shown if they are modified, adapted...

I hope this helps.
