Hi.

I've got Trados 6.5, my client has 5.0. She can't open my TM I sent her. How can I save my 6.5 TM into 5.0?

Thanks.
Sandra

Export/import Jul 20, 2004

Hi Sandra,
I've got Trados 6.5, my client has 5.0. She can't open my TM I sent her.

Of course not, as T6.x uses a different encryption and indexation algorithm.

How can I save my 6.5 TM into 5.0?

Just export the TUs: she'll be able to import them into T5.x without any problems.

HTH, Ralf

Sorry, how do I do that? Jul 20, 2004

Sorry, Ralf ... how do I do that? When I've got workbench open, I go to export, but it really doesn't look like it would be there...? Or is it?

File - Export Jul 20, 2004

Hi Sandra,
It's under File - Export.
For more details, please check page 5-28 et seq. of the Translator's Workbench User Guide.

Hi Sandra:
Make sure you open the TM in "Exclusive" mode. Then click on File/Export.
When the "Create Export File" box opens, give a destination, a name, and make sure that you select Translator WorkBench .txt in the Type box.

Then send that text file to your client, who can the import the TM to his 5. TM.

HIH,

Ricardo
