under articles of agreement for nominal pay
Hey Cindy,
I think I found the translation for the entire paragraph in the Web. Here it is:
SUPERNUMERARY means any relative of a seaman, or any other person, whom an Owner has agreed to maintain or carry on board an entered ship (except a passenger) and includes any person engaged under articles of agreement for nominal pay.

Hope this helps!

Comment: "This is one of those times I sure wish I could divide up the points. I had the same doubts as Telesforo about this reference, although it is clearly related to my text. However, since so many of Nikki's references on "articles of agreement" dealt with this same context, I have to go along with it. Thank you, David and Nikki, and everyone else who contributed."

under an agreement containing terms of nominal payment
I would translate it ias under :
Under an agreement containing terms of nominal payment
Under an agreement containing terms of nominal payment
+2
40 mins
under an agreement based on nominal pay
I think this is a more straightforward opction. For me, and maybe I'm missing something, "articulado" means just that it's based on that specific type of wage.
Good luck!
Good luck!
