I think that "presente" here means "Auditing" but I was just wondering if someone could confirm that.
Thanks in advance for any help.

PRO (2): Marcelo González, avelina fernandez
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Actually in your translation you'd have to say "Audit" instead of "Auditing". Pass and Audit is not the same; you probably know that, but I'm including an explanation for others who may come across this term on KudoZ. When you "audit" a class you don't have to do and submit any homework. But you always have to attend class. In the end you get no credit for the class; it shows on your transcript but the number of credits aren't included in the total credits you need for your degree. To get a Pass degree you need to submit homework and attendance is not always mandatory (it depends on the school and the professor). You do get credit for the course.
--------------------------
What is the difference between audit and pass/fail? For pass/fail, you have to do the work, the professor doesn’t know, and it counts toward graduation (see Taking a Class Pass/Fail [link to Pass/Fail section]); for audit, you can only do the reading and go to class, the professor MUST know, and it doesn’t count toward graduation (see section on Auditing a Class).

: "Creditos no se toman en cuenta" refers to the course credits that appear on the transcript. As for "aprobado," the use of a "P" at Dominican universities may be in these universities' best interests. Please see my note added about financial aid. :-)

Hi Marcelo :) I don't think they receive credits with "presente" because it says "Creditos no se toman en cuenta....". Present seems to me that the student is simply ...present. Wouldn't it say "aprobado" if it meant "pass"?

attendance
pass
The students receives credit, but it isn't factored into his (grade point) average.

Since "P" is used in the United States, and since US residents studying at certain Dominican universities (including PUCMM) can receive (US-based) financial aid, it wouldn't be surprising if "P" were used at some Dominican universities (as part of an effort to bring the Dominican system in line with its US counterpart).
Good luck, Renee :-)

Students at La Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), as well as students at La Universidad Pedro Enriquez Ureña (UNPHU) and La Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE)--to name but three--can apply for US federal financial aid. In fact, there are many US residents studying medicine at both UNPHU and UNIBE. Having similar abreviations on student records facilitates communication between US financial aid authorities (at the Department of Education) and Dominican administrators (at universities on the island).
La Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) está certificada y es elegible para participar en programas federales de asistencia económica amparados por el Título IV de la Ley de Educación Superior de los Estados Unidos de América.
