The anchoring points for lines, blocks and lizards must be of adequate strength and, where practicable, be permanent fixtures to the ship’s structure. Integral lugs should be hammer tested. Portable rails or stanchions must not be used as anchoring points. Any anchoring points should be treated as lifting points and should be inspected/tested in accordance with Chapter 20 of this Code.
