I am trying to find a not too 'shuddh hindi' word, also it should net be long term, just a word or two. thanks in advance :)

SairsapAta----सैरसपाटा

Since you are looking for a colloquial and common equivalent for sightseeing, I think that SairsapAta----सैरसपाटा should serve your purpose. Otherwise, DrishyAvlokan/Drishya-darshan/Prakriti-sthal-darshan/Susthal-darshal are pure Hindi terms for the same.

It's a common word. . .And I'm all the more sure because I'm from a tourism background. . .Paryatan is tourism so ou can use the word as per your context

In Maharshtra tourism industry this word is common. Sight=sthal seeing = darshan

I like langclinic's sair-sapata which can also be shortened to just sair karne (सैर करने).

Another frequently used Hindi term for sight seeing is घूमना-फिरना (ghoomna-phirna).

instead of noticing the verb as sight seeing,I think it is a noun as 'sightseeing'in hindi.
