Thanks, will do!

Non-PRO English to Bulgarian Other Other
I have posted on a Bulgarian ski site, apologising for using English because I don't speak Bulgarian. Some replies have been most helpful, but someone posted "Next time learn Bulgarian!" I would like to post my reply of "Thanks, will do!" in Bulgarian.

Discussion

transliterated into Roman characters. Mr. klyunchev's suggestion would read: "Blagodaria, shte naucha!", while Mr. Tangra's suggestions would read "Blagodaria, ShtE!" ; "1. Blagodaria, s udovolstvie." or "2. Blagodaria, shte go storia.", respectively. :))

a set of encoding options. The suggested responses presented hereinbelow should be viewable with the Cyrillic (Windows-1251) encoding. If you still have a problem, however, you may wish to post your selected response on the Bulgarian ski site
7777 (X) Jan 13, 2006:
Various ProZ.com users have indeed experienced certain problems with the character encoding of the Cyrillic alphabet. So it might be the site, and not you. However, in your browser's "View" menu there should be a "Character Encoding" command offering
Yavor Dimitrov Jan 13, 2006:
You may want to use Cyrillic (Windows-1251) character encoding. I am sure this will solve the problem. Please let me know if it is not working.
Lucy Spring (asker) Jan 13, 2006:
Um, thank you for your swift responses. I have another problem now - for some reason, the replies are not showing on the site in the cyrillic alphabet. Is there a part of the site I can visit to convert the answers? The ski site I visited shows the cyrillic alphabet unless I switch my profile to "show board in English", then it all turns to gobbledegook, so I know I don't have a problem with my computer recognising it. Many thanks, sorry to be a pain.

Благодаря, ЩЕ!

It must've been a bit of a shock for you to get such a blunt response. Some people are not very considerate especially one the Internet.

So if you want to sound equally rude, you can use "БЛАГОДАРЯ, ЩЕ!"

The more polite options would be:
1. Благодаря, с удоволствие.

оr

2. Благодаря, ще го сторя.

... a typo found. "... ON the Internet...." Sorry. :)
Peer comment(s):

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for all your help (including 7777 for the bit on encoding - it's worked a dream, and will come in very handy when I start learning Bulgarian, which I hope to do over the next couple of years, as we are hoping to buy a place in Bulgaria)."
