A hunch- from your other queries, this sounds like it may originally be a bad translation from Fr to Pt, in which case the word would be "bâtiments ", buildings = edifícios. Makes sense in the context, but I may also be far off the mark ;-)

Não será "abatimentos" que em Pt-Pt significa: abaixamentos ou desnivelamentos de um terreno em relação aos que o rodeiam?

Isto porque o contexto diz especificamente "the airfield is made up of all of the land, water or floating area, ***including*** batimentos...".
