Can't put my finger on a good way to express this. General magazine article about singer-songwriter Axelle Red, who co-sang the official song at the opening ceremony of the 1998 World Cup (‘La cour des grands’). At the moment I have "Football was one of the only things that gave children on the street a chance to live life to the full" but it's a bit OTT (IMO). 'Was one of the only sources of enjoyment'? Some inspiration, please!
