Since delta usually means a change, I would assume here that :"(The quantity) T increases by ΔT." Obtains/gains/receives an increase/increment sounds weird....

Concerning your question...
To my knowledge, increment is a noun and not a verb, at least in all my years I've never seen it used as a verb and English dictionaries don't list it as a verb.

Yes, I know "incremented" is in Google a million times, but it still sounds strange (maybe I'm old fashion!)

All the "increments" I saw were nouns. Please find a reference that states "increment" is a verb and I'll buy the argument; otherwise I'll continue to use the simple word "increase."

Yes, in some places it's being USED as a verb. Back to my: Please find a reference that states "increment" is a verb and I'll buy the argument; otherwise I'll continue to use the simple word "increase."

I'm among the shocked (from your source) ["...these verbs aren't verbs" (Go ahead and use it as a verb- I never would):

This all started when an "STC major" told TECHWR-L of her shock at finding

> "increments" and "decrements" were used as VERBS!

[To which I replied:]

>May I have a show of hands on this one? Did you know that these verbs aren't
>verbs? Do only programmers increment registers?

Many confessed to having no inkling that they weren't verbs. Several said
they knew but used them anyway--not always reluctantly.

A couple of replies cited technical dictionaries that accept the verb forms.
Note from asker:
What do you think about "T increments by ΔT"?

А "get an increment" Вас не устроит?
В интернете полно контекста с цифрами.
Note from asker:
Речь о температуре. Как перевести именно "получать приращение"?
get может и подойдет. Мне нужен highly formal English
