Selected
minty/menthol-edged
Is there any reason not to translate it literally I wonder?
Example sentence:
Hardys Reserve Shiraz 2001 South Eastern Australia. Nicely structured, this big red wine shows minty, menthol-edged berry fruit with a spicy finish. (£6.49).

Umberto Cassano
: mentolato = minty secondo il Watson's Wine Glossary

Thanks Umberto - I wonder what the great Giles would make of "menthol-edged", which is a bit of a neologism, but gives a slightly more aromatic idea than "minty"

Giles Watson
: For Anthony: "menthol-edged" perhaps suggests a pepperminty overtone.

Thanks Giles - yes "a little more aromatic" was my attempt to get that idea cross I suppose. BTW "mentoso" is not yet in Watson's Wine Glossary, whereas "mentolato" is there as "minty"

minty
you could go for 'minty fruit' or 'minty bouquet'

Anthony Green
: why an aftertaste? From Lizzy's question it sounds more like the attack

suadente refers to the taste, that's why I gave that suggestion
