Spanish term

Fiscalía (as used in companies in Chile)

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
I know the term Fiscalía is usually prosecutor/DA's office (and also know it has been asked many times!), but in this context it means something else...

perhaps Auditor's office / Legal?

The context is a series of company stamps on contracts, stating either just the name of the company and then "Fiscalía" with someone's initials next to it, or

XXXXX, Inc.
Fiscalia: [initials]
Contratos: [initials]

which makes me think it is either the Auditor's Office /Controller's office, or the Legal Department (or any equivalent US denomination) of the company.

It is that departemental denomination I seek.

Thanks!

Legal Department

Yes you are right, here in Chile many Company lawyers sign-off documents using this title in representation of the Company's Legal Department.
