Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems to me that the writer chose the wrong word with "esonerare" in this sentence.
I reclami afferenti eventuali vizio difetti della merce,ammanchi e/o ritardi di consegna non esonerano l’acquirente dal sospendere il pagamento dei crediti di XXX per la merce reclamata o per altra merce consegnata all’acquirente
It seems to me that this is the exact opposite of what these terms and conditions should be trying to stipulate. Wouldn't it make more sense if the writer had used "permettere" in place of "esonerare"?
If anyone can provide some insight or an explanation, it will be greatly appreciated!

They have used esonerare in the sense of release from liability, but the sentence doesn't work. It's a standard clause that means the customer cannot suspend payments even if the goods are faulty.

come vedi ho eliminato sospendere e salvato il verbo esonerare
ma la proposta di Claire è perfetta poichè esprime il punto di vista espresso dalla proposizione, vale a dire l'impossibilità di sospendere i pagamenti. Non vi è tale diritto solo perchè i beni presentano dei vizi. Io invece avevo fatto un salto logico; se non si possono sospendere i pagamenti allora non si è esonerati dal pagamento stesso.

In this way the writer is saying that the purchaser is not exempt from suspending payments, when it should state that the purchaser is not exempt from making payments, no?
