I am having problems finding an equivalent to this expression in portuguese (cont.). I dont find anything about it online. This appears in a test that I am doing. I dont mind some ideas about a similar meaning in english.

dar-lhe um toque para o telefone
Não sei bem qual o contexto e o género de texto, mas em Portugal utiliza-se muito a expressão "dar-lhe um toque" para o telefone - tanto quando se fala realmente com a pessoa como quando se deixa apenas o telefone tocar. Uma sugestão...
