API di hadapan gubernurnya mengeluhkan belitan birokrasi yg sdh sangat mengecik

Non-PRO Indonesian to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
pengusaha.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): ErichEko ⟹⭐, Ian Forbes

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

The API complained to the Governor about the all-encompassing bureaucratic red tape

I agree with the points raised by Erich and Hikmat but would like to suggest the following alternative translation: *The API complained to the Governor about the all-encompassing bureaucratic red tape*

Sorry, I didn't vote for this to be reclassified. (Jangankan minta direklasifikasi, tahu caranya juga nggak :))
Peer comment(s):

neutral ErichEko ⟹⭐ : Ian, based on KudoZ rules, any question answerable only by a pro translator must be classified PRO, and any registered member has the right to reclassify questions. All the cheers!

Hi Erich, thanks for the explanation. The trouble is I see my name down the bottom as if I had asked for reclassification but I didn’t ask for it. Maybe I pressed the wrong button or the server had a hiccup.

perhaps its a typo.

In front of the governor, API complained about complicated bureaucracy that has cruelly choked...

...entrepreneurs.

"mengecik" looks to me a typo of "mencekik" (strangling, choking).

Also, API is the association of Indonesian garment/textile producers/entrepreneurs, so they would not have a governor. I guess, "gubernur" here refers to a governor of a province where API paid a courtesy visit.
