The following section on is part of coursework on Automotive Engineering, the main topic is "diesel fuel governors":
"Timing devices:
Centrifugally controlled timing devices are positioned in the drivetrain between the engine and the fuel-injection pump. The flyweights respond to increasing engine speed by turning the fuel-injection pump‘s camshaft, with respect to the drive shaft, in the ***delivery advance*** direction."
Does this imply increasing delivery, and would that be the correct response to increased engine speed as opposed to limiting fuel delivery?

Similarly to the adjustment of ignition timing in the engines with spark ignition, in diesel engines the injection (=delivery) timing is being adjusted.
