"Because each ink drop is solidified instantly, it is not possible to get continuous tones. A UV-curable printer’s output has a grainy appearance and there is still some banding effect due to poor feeding speed or by **bi-directional angling** of the ink. Still, for images that will be viewed from two metres or more, UV printouts look just fine."
