Obrigado, Salloz, tenha um bom fim-de-semana!
agree Muriel Vasconcellos : There are about 25 web definitions that include the word "liquid" or "fluid" - no mention of gaseous.

Thank you, Muriel, have a nice weekend! "Liquid" is not redundant, because the effluents could also be gaseous.// Look at this: 62,300 English pages for "gaseous effluents".

release of effluents

Frequently in environmental language people speak of release of waste, that might include purified water re-introduced into a river, or it could include 'disposal' as another manner of release, indicating the waste or effluents are not returned to the natural environment.

Here's a good example:
"recycling, energy recovery, treatment, and release. (including disposal). Waste Management Information Collected. Box 2-7 describes the waste management ..."

runoff disposal

This is the most commonly used term.

"The most practical method of runoff disposal at this time is to spread it onto cropland. The crops will use the water and plant nutrients in the runoff. The organic material will add to the soil organic matter, helping to improve the soil."

"Given the magnitude of stormwater runoff (from separate storm drainage systems) and its pollutional contribution, the treatment of stormwater would generate residuals in amounts equal to or in excess of the volume of sludge now generated by municipal wastewater treatment."
