This is really only a stab in the dark. Does your text refer to a pharma co.? If so, the above could be a possibility although "key opinion leader" (KOL) is used more frequently, also by German companies. The real German term would be "Meinungsbildner/-führer".

where they distinguish between Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and Key Opinion Influencers (KOI), which leaves me mystified as these two terms (largely) overlap.
