I am currently translating a short IT document, and am struggling to find a suitable translation for the term "ontsluiten".

The context is as follows:

"Zoals bekend wil [Company A] nu ook [Company B] gaan inzetten voor ondermeer het ontsluiten van de huidige telecomplatformen ten behoeve van het genereren van managementinformatie op het gebied van...."

I have searched through various dictionaries, but cannot find a suitable English equivalent.

Sorry, I am not a native speaker of English, but what is wrong with "open up" or "opening up", which is the translation given by Van Dale Dutch-English?
