Romanian term

de a găti mâncare

Non-PRO Romanian Other Other Idiom
Hi,

Please see:

http://dexonline.ro/search.php?cuv=bucătar

BUCĂTÁR, bucătari, s.m. Bărbat care are meseria de a găti mâncare. – Bucată + suf. -ar.

I hope it’s okay, I put Romanian-Romanian as I’d be most interested to see if you can use the supine here: is it okay to say “de gătit mâncare” instead of “de a găti mâncare”, please?

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

"de a găti mâncare" is correct

in English you would say "who's job is TO COOK (a găti) food" and not "who's job is FOR COOK (de gătit) food".
