In this context auto-generic is the generic [drug] produced by the same manufacturer as the one who produced the [drug]. By "auto" they would like to emphasize that generics are usually manufactured by companies different from the patent drug manufacturer.

the medication which is automatically substituted with the generic equivalent
Millennium Pharmacy has recently added a new feature to their pharmacy automation software package that processes auto generic substitutions for prescriptions. The new feature adds logic that automatically reads the pharmacy's inventory on hand and then creates the automatic generic substitution. The process works like this: When an order is created, usually the physician enters the brand name of the drug, not the generic name. Since most insurances don't cover brand names of drugs, the MPSRx solution substitutes the medication for the generic name. For example, Coumadin would be substituted with Warfarim. The physician needs only to recognize the brand name to submit the prescription…MPSRx automatically substitutes the medication with the generic equivalent for them.

Generic Drugs: Cutting Cost, Not Corners.
by Bill Rados
On Sept. 24, 1984, President Reagan signed a law simplifying FDA's approval process for substitute, or "generic," versions of brand-name drugs whose patents have expired. With the law now one year old, newly approved generics are entering the marketplace, offering savings to consumers, but only after satisfying FDA's requirements for quality and equivalence to the brand-name products with which they compete.
Over the past several years consumers have become more and more aware of the money they can save by purchasing generic rather than brand-name drugs. Indeed, the wor generic has been added to the public's vocabulary. While generics have the same active ingredient as their brand-name counterparts, they are usually...

Automaticly produce.
I worked for a pharmaceutical Company ( Teaching English) and they did use the term "auto-generic" more or less to state that they were different, and when a drug came out, and it was popular, it went on the Auto make, without having to do a feasibility study. An example, would be "Paracetamol"
They would Automatically produce the generic version of this drug. where as others would have to be assessed on whether it was worth making it.
The phrase below refers to its patent coverage and its marketability
"is also taken into account in this market authorization status"
"since 01-Sep-1989." Identity's it is not a recently created term.
