intellect = the ability to understand and to think in an intelligent way, or the ability to do these things to a high level.
intellectual = relating to your ability to think and understand things, esp complicated ideas eg Looking after a baby at home all day is nice but it doesn't provide much intellectual stimulation. I like detective stories and romances - nothing too intellectual. (Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary)
