**By-Pass Cooling** Mode: oil is actively cooled while coupling is de-clutched from drive.

This mode allows the TPKL to pump the oil from the reservoir through the cooler and back into the reservoir. Although this feature can operate with or without the main motor operating, the primary benefit is realized when relatively hot oil accumulates in the sump during an aborted loaded start.

The **by-pass cooling** mode is used to quickly cool down the sump oil to minimize the time before a restart. The coolers typically supplied with these drives allow the oil to cool within 1-3 minutes.
