If you Google foor this term there is an explanation in ww3. interscience.wiley.com/8100/legacy:
"When an asset is bought sometime during the year, a partial depreciation charge is required.
The procedure is:
Determine depreciation for a full year, and
allocate the amount between the two periods affected (see example ==> ) ..."

neutral Ted Wozniak : The only problem I have is that land is almost NEVER depreciated because is doesn't normally have a finite useful life. Absent any more context, I would assume "Flächen" refers to square footage of a building. i.e., partial depreciation on real property
