Discussion

MargoZ Jul 24, 2008:
Eugenio, for the option you selected, please note that one can't motivate Word of Mouth, (you can't motivate a thing) but you can motivate the consumer base to promote xyz through Word of Mouth... I missed this in my answer using encourage as well.

12 mins

What will interest us the most is promoting...

Or, in either case, "the promotion of."

Not motivating, because we're talking about Word of Mouth, which is something to be promoted, not motivated. :)

Probably a better idea altogether would be "WE ARE MOST CONCERNED WITH THE PROMOTION OF..."

Interesar should probably not be translated as interest, here.

14 mins

what is going to interest us most is to encourage

Locating "most" in the end of the sentence emphasizes it. Encourage may be a good alternative to motivate in this case.

what we are mainly interested in doing is encouraging

.... word of mouth among our customer base.

creo que necesitas algo más "natural" aqui y menos "literal"...

you could actually remove the "doing", thus:
"what we are mainly interested in is encouraging..."

What is going more interesant for us is to motivate...

no tienes que traducir lo palabra por palabra sino mas el sentido de la sentencia entera.

Our primary interest will be to encourage WoM...

Or.. a stronger word might be to spur WoM.

As an option: if it's not a literal translation, then lo que/what can probably be omitted.
