thermocouples
I assume that this is maybe Spanish, but I would guess that is stands for thermocouples, temperature sensing elements.
a device that consists of the junction of two dissimilar metallic conductors, as copper and iron, in which an electromotive force is induced when the conductors are maintained at different temperatures, the force being related to the temperature difference: used to determine the temperature of a third substance by connecting it to the junction of the metals and measuring the electromotive force produced.

thermocouples
Is it Spanish for thermocouples? It doesn't look like an English word to me.

: This is normally called "termopares" in Spanish. I'd say "termocuplas" is a very bad adaptation from English.

: In Argentina the term 'termocupla' is very usual. It is probably adapted from French rather than English.

you remind us of something very important - there are several "dialects" within each language which contribute to make for different usages!
