: I perfectly agree with Michael. It is not a stethoscopic rod, but a stethoscope which can be used for diagnosis by listening to the sound.

Well, on second thoughts, I would say its stethoscopic rod. Its a device that is used to check out for any abnormalities in automobile parts (accessories), by listening to the sound.
The word stethoscope is better used in medical terminology.

: I tried searching on the web with both candicacies to assume stethoscopy may be more used for medicare, and stethoscopic rod can be used for mechanics. But it's just a relative observation. I merely belive in how we get search results.
