A stanza: Olasz eredetű nyolc soros strófa. Hatodfeles (és ötös) jambusi sorokból áll, rímes. Hagyományos rímképletében három azonos keresztrím és egy önálló párrím található, betűvel: abababcc. Változhat azonban a szótagszám és a rímképlet is.

: Az általad idézett definíció, első példamondat és a Verstani alapismeretek oldal alapján a stanza a magyarban nyolc soros, időmértékes. Az angolra ez nem igaz, a stanza akárhány sorból állhat (lásd pl. a definíciót fent), időmérték és rím sem kell hozzá.

Igen, így van. Az a probléma, hogy angolul a stanza a verse szinonímájaként is használatos, magyarul viszont specifikus. Sajnos nem lehet a kérdezőhöz kérdést intézni, ennek tisztázására.

If the question definitely refers to the use of "stanza" as "verse" or "strophe", please make it clear in the English definition above. I suggest replacing the definition with the one in Wikipedia: "In modern poetry, the term is often equivalent with strophe; in popular vocal music, a stanza is typically referred to as a "verse" (as distinct from the refrain, or "chorus").
A stanza consists of a grouping of lines, set off by a space, that usually has a set pattern of meter and rhyme."
