German term

Morgenstern

German to English Other Cooking / Culinary
Saftig gegrillte Stücke vom Huhn, Rind, Truthahn und Schwein werden am Morgenstern hängend, bei Tisch flambiert

I'm guessing this has to be some sort of mace-shaped piece of kitchen equipment used to suspend meat while it is being cooked (a bit like a spit-roast). However, I have never heard of or seen anything like this. Any ideas?
Proposed translations (English)

Yes. I have seen this. We have a similar term "Morning Star" in English. However, I have never heard this used with a culinary reference.

I would translate it literally, this website produces both kitchen utensils and swords

sorry, ma*c*e

Frances, I have never heard Morgenstern in a culinary context. They probably hang a spiked mace over the table, hang the meat on the spikes and then ... voilà
Note from asker:
This was my thought too, but it's one of those things that you could just get wildly wrong, so I just wanted to check really! Sounds like a really interesting restaurant - not quite like anything I've ever been to before!!!

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : looks intriguing. it makes perfect sense; I can't say I've ever been to that kind of restaurant either

agree Rebecca Garber : I'd go with spiked mace, since how many people really know what a morning star is? I would *love* to see a picture of this presentation. I've *got* to get out more...
