The most comprehensive element of the drama is plot, which Aristotle called the soul of tragedy, for that is how we perceive and remember the play, the language, and the characters. That is, we remember these things in the context of their relations to one another and this is the pattern we call ‘plot’ and ‘plot structure”.
The word ‘plot’ derives from the word for a piece of ground and, more directly, from the use of that word to designate a ground plan, diagram or chart. The word is used figuratively in literature to designate a plan or scheme of events in a story.

Definitia din dex este asemanatoare cu cea data in textul citat.
Intriga e termenul consacrat si mi se pare cel mai potrivit.

"structura intrigii" poate suna ciudat. Ar putea fi tradus ca "structura actiunii" insa nu este identic.

În română, în contextul Poeticii lui Aristotel, aşa s-a tradus. Cuvântul în greagă este "mythos" şi uneori se foloseşte şi varianta "mit", dar mai rar.

PLOT STRUCTURE
The sequence of events within a literary work. The plot usually begins with an exposition. The central conflict is introduced and developed throughout the rising action until the action reaches its highest point of interest or suspense, which is known as the climax.The climax is followed by the falling action and eventually the resolution. Events occuring after the resolution make up the denouement.

Poetica lui Aristotel conţine toate trăsăturile care vor marca gândirea poeziei până în secolele XVII - XVIII. Aristotel vede poezia, ca şi Platon, drept imitaţie, însă cu o nuanţare în plus: mimesis-ul nu mai era o reproducere mecanică a naturii sau a esenţelor, el devenea un act creativ care suscita ceea ce autorul numeşte darul înnăscut al imitaţiei şi darul armoniei şi ritmului. Mythos-ul, conţinutul, ***subiectul*** poeziei trebuia să înfăţişeze întotdeauna universalul, iar între hybris şi nemesis Aristotel interpunea peripetia, răsturnarea de situaţie care permitea apariţia lui nemesis.

Asta nu înseamnă că trebuie să ne supărăm unii pe alţii, este cât se poate de probabil să mai existe şi alte traduceri, inclusiv "intrigă", am auzit şi "fabulă" (sub influenţa rusă, cred). În filosofie se păstrează de multe ori şi "mythos", aşa cum pentru "imitaţie" se păstrează de multe ori "mimesis". "subiect" este varianta pe care o folosea şi proful meu în facultate la cursurile de teoria literaturii.

: Funny! Am dat aceeaşi explicaţie fără să văd această variantă de răspuns, susţinînd echivalenţa "intrigă" = plot (gr. mythos) - see ref.

Cred că se folosesc ambele. Nouă în facultate ne spuneau de "subiect", dar nu înseamnă că e singura variantă acceptată :)
