Jovem Guarda (the Brazilian beat scene/generation)

Personally I do not think I would translate the term as it is distinctly Brazilian, and is used in other English writing.

To explain it in the wider cultural context, I would suggest equating it with the beat scene (exemplified by the Beatles) and the US beat generation.

So I would probably write: "Jovem Guarda (the Brazilian beat scene)" on first appearance and from then on, Jovem Guarda
