There is no context I can give you; I came across this word when going through technical drawings attached to the document. It denotes some distance and is written above the extension line delimitating the dimensions of a part of the machine. (e.g. 2500 hold; 2500 being the length in mm). The respective extension lines show the distance of something (like a valve etc.) to one of the axes of the component.
