truematsuさんがおっしゃるように、friction とcollision は明らかに意味が違いますね。
みなさんがおっしゃるように、gear noise だけでもいいのかもしれませんが
ここは原文に忠実にTroyさんの表現にすることにします。gear "collision noise"でgoogle検索したところ
たくさんヒットしました。

For 衝突音, I think "collision noise" would be a suitable translation.

You could probably call this:

* Gear collision-noise reduction grease.
* Gear silencing grease (for collision noise reduction).

gear noise

I think I'd just go with "gear noise," since the friction is there by nature.

I agree with two answerers that "collision" here is not suitable. Just "gear noise" would work, but to be more specific, why not say "Gear meshing noise"?
