In a similar way it is important to realize that a whole generation of people now exist in our country [UK] who have very little, if any, knowledge of the Bible at all. [...] In the inner city area of Leeds where I was working in a church for a number of years, it is customary to come across people who find it very difficult to read at all, ***let alone read the Bible***. We need to wake up as believers to the situation around us.
