Из желтого купола валил настырный снег.

Hello

Above is a shortened version of a metaphor in the opening lines of a work by Eduard Limonov. It features as follows:

'На улице мело так, как будто над городом повисло красноярское сибирское небо. Из желтого как ядро крутого яица купола вторые сутки валил настырный снег.'

I don't understand how snow can fall from a cupola. The subsequent lines do not clarify it further.

A dome (sky) can look this way as a sunlight disperses through the snow particles and each of them reflects it. The same effect you may have when it is foggy and sunny in the same time: the fog appears yellow.

Yellow sky? Thanks for your input. I'm still a little confused as to how the sky can be described as being yellow.

the canopy of heaven the canopy of heaven (the dome of the sky) - купол неба. Из купола неба, желтого как ядро крутого яйца, вторые сутки валил настырный снег. Это если перефразировать для Вашего удобства. (А я не читала)

А в первом предложении можно использовать sky?
