German to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing

This appears in a document about production planning in a section dealing with structuring of production facilities. More specifically, it is taken from a table showing structuring criteria.

There are three columns in the table. The first column heading is „Strukturierungskriterium“ and the criterion is „Fertigungsart (wie viel, wie oft)”.

The second column is entitled „Erläuterung“ and contains four lines: 1) “Fertigungsart”, 2) “Massenfertigung = geringe Flexibilität, hohe Automatisierung“, 3) „Serienfertigung = mittlere Flexibilität, hohe Produktivität“ and 4) Einzelfertigung (Sonderwünsche) = höchste Flexibilität, Nutzung der ABC-XYZ-Analyse.

The third column heading is „Beispiel für gebildete Strukturen” and contains 3 examples: “*Rennerlinie* (Masse)”, “*Läuferlinie* (Serie)” and „Exotennest (Sonder)” for 2), 3) and 4) respectively.

Does anyone have any idea how to translate these types of production line? I haven’t been able to find anything in my research that explains what either of them is. Thank you!
